Sam Muller

Sam is a social entrepreneur focused on improving governance systems so they deliver better outcomes for people. He has worked as a founding CEO, board chair and member, and as a senior adviser, focusing on setting up initiatives that improve human rights, rule of law, access to justice, and conservation efforts systemically and in a people centered way. He was the founding CEO of the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL) and the Wildlife Justice Commission (WJC), both of which have developed data driven, innovative approaches to the rule of law and conservation. He headed the team that set up the International Criminal Court. He served on several boards of internationally operating organisations:  Chair of the Board of WWF Netherlands, Chair of the Board of the Wildlife Justice Commission, member of the Board of WWF International. As expert, he served on two Global Agenda Councils of the World Economic Forum and the Advisory Board of the Justice Action Coalition.  He has extensive international experience, particularly in Africa and the MENA region, and has also worked in both conflict and peace contexts.​​In November 2022, Sam received the Tällberg SNS Global Leadership Award for his  work on rule of law and democracy. Martijn Scheltema

Martijn Scheltema holds a law degree and a doctorate from Leiden University and taught there. He has joined the Dutch law firm Pels Rijcken and has been admitted to the Dutch Supreme Court bar. He has been counsel in several landmark human rights cases at the Dutch Supreme Court, such as the Srebrenica and Urgenda cases. He chairs the business human rights practice group of his firm. He is also a professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and active in the business human rights field. He helped set up the Erasmus Research Platform on Sustainable Business and Human Rights. Martijn was one of the founding members of Access, an international organization advertising and facilitating access to remedy through non-judicial mechanisms in the business human rights arena, and is involved in the establishment of an international trust fund to facilitate access to remedy. He is the chair of the dispute resolution mechanism of the Dutch International Responsible Business Agreements in the Textile and Natural Stone sectors and of the German Textilbündniss. Furthermore, he served as a member of the international drafting team of the Hague Rules on Arbitration on Business Human Rights. He also served as chair of the business human rights committee of the International Bar Association.

Anneke Keller

Anneke Keller is an experienced technology leader and author of “The Cherry Model,” which explores the four seasons of innovating IT organizations. She was recognized among the “50 Most Inspiring Women in Tech” in the Netherlands (2016, 2017, and 2019), nominated in the top 3 “Most Innovative Leaders” (2021), and top 3 “CIO of the Year” (2022). Anneke holds degrees in Industrial Design Engineering and Systems Engineering, Policy Analysis and Management from Delft University of Technology, complemented by several MBA courses from IMD in Lausanne. Her career spans leadership positions at prominent Dutch companies, where she has driven technological transformation and team development. As CTO of PostNL (2024-2025), she leads Technology Strategy & Enablement while guiding Agile and DevOps transitions. Previously, she served as CTO at Wehkamp (2021-2023), Head of Jumbo Tech Campus at Jumbo Supermarkten (2017-2020), and Head of Software Development at Coolblue (2013-2017), where she grew the team from 28 to over 200 staff while supporting business growth exceeding 50% for four consecutive years.

Prior roles include VP Software Engineering at TomTom International BV (2007-2011), where she led an international software engineering team developing embedded software for all TomTom products, and various positions at KPN (1997-2007), where she began as a Management Trainee and eventually led teams of more than 1100 people. Anneke currently serves on the Supervisory Boards of Wereld Natuur Fonds (WWF Netherlands), LinkIT and BrandMR, providing expertise on digital, media, and technology strategy. Juan Carlos Botero

Juan Carlos Botero holds a law degree from Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), a master in law from Harvard University, and a doctorate from Georgetown University. He has over 20 years of experience developing indicators to measure justice and the rule of law worldwide. He led the development of the World Justice Project’s Rule of Law Index and was one of the original members of the team that developed the World Bank’s Doing Business project. Dr. Botero’s experience also includes government service as Chief International Legal Counsel at the Colombian Ministry of Commerce; international trade negotiator; head of the Colombian Trade Bureau in the USA; and Judicial Clerk at the Colombian Constitutional Court. He has been a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Expert Network for over a decade and is a former Vice Chair of one of its global agenda councils. He currently serves as dean of the Law Faculty of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. He is an adviser to the team.

Angela Pinzon

Ángela María Pinzón Rondón, MD, PhD, is a distinguished physician-scientist and public health expert in Colombia, currently serving as a Full Professor at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universidad del Rosario. She holds a PhD in Public Health with an emphasis on Maternal and Child Health. She has extensive experience in research, education, and policy development.

At Universidad del Rosario, Dr. Pinzón Rondón directs the Master of Public Health program and co-directs the Doctoral Program in Clinical Research, underscoring her dedication to shaping the next generation of public health professionals and scientific doctors.

Her research focuses on planetary health—exploring the intersections between human well-being and environmental sustainability—. She has also worked on violence prevention, social determinants of health in vulnerable communities, global health, sexual and reproductive health, and maternal and child health. She has authored more than 50 publications, cited over 650 times, demonstrating her impact in these critical areas.

Currently, Dr. Pinzón Rondón is working closely with Indigenous communities in the Amazon rainforest, supporting efforts to improve health and food sovereignty. Her research examines the impact of external factors—such as the activities of various companies—on the well-being of these communities. By studying and addressing these influences, she seeks to develop interventions that empower Indigenous populations, protect their health, and promote sustainable, community-led solutions.Her work in planetary health extends to analyzing how ecological changes influence public health, emphasizing the need for sustainable interventions.

Through her leadership in academia and research, Dr. Pinzón Rondón continues to advance scientific knowledge and influence policies that promote health equity and environmental sustainability in Colombia and beyond.

Martijn Kind

Martijn Kind is a development economist with a MSc. degree in International Development Studies from Wageningen University. He started his career at Oxfam Novib as a Specialist Impact Measurement and Knowledge and evaluated the impact of several programmes and projects. He then worked for HiiL as a Justice Sector Adviser and was heavily involved in the measurement of access to justice, development of the methodology, and the launch of the first version of the justice dashboard. He currently works for the United Nations on a range of issues related to social protection, income inequality, social inclusion and statistics. He was part of the core writing team of the World Social Report 2020 and 2021 editions – one of the flagship publications of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs. Currently he works on statistics for the Sustainable Development Goals at the UN Economic Commission for Europe in Geneva. His expertise lies in data analysis, sustainable development, statistics and overcoming technical challenges. He is an adviser to the team.

Thomas Veldkamp

Lawyer helping major NGOs manage risk around the world. Advised Doctors Without Borders and managed the largest radio station in Central Africa. Holds law degrees from Sciences Po in Paris and NYU in New York. Previously worked on major financing deals with Willkie Farr in New York.
